Olympic Pavillon

The Olympic Pavilion of Badalona is known by fans as “The Basketball Cathedral”. The Club Joventut Badalona basketball team plays on its court and its 12,500 capacity always impresses visitors. It was built for the Barcelona ‘92 Olympics. Here the American dream team with Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan won the Olympic Gold. Esteve Bonell and Francesc Rius, the pavilion’s architects, were awarded the Mies Van der Rohe contemporary architecture award for the construction.
